Blackthorn and Bloodwood

Blackthorn is one of the small, often evanescent, lineages of what has come to be known stateside as British Traditional Witchcraft or BTW. Its history can be traced back to early 1995, when its founders began practicing this style of craft together independently of their parent tradition. They continued to work, train, and initiate in this manner for several years until making another attempt at also working within their parent tradition; philosophical and practical differences led to their eventual formal break, though their lineage was not officially named until the summer of 2015, when the current initiates together voted to call their path "Blackthorn." At the time of its naming, there were initiates and covens scattered over three states.

Bloodwood is the mother coven of the Blackthorn lineage.
